Happy New Year to everyone! Have a great 2016.
Thank you for your continued support. We hope you had a great Christmas and would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for coming out to meet us last month, at the TLS Christmas festival on the night of the 4th December in TLS high street. We were happy to be there with the rest of the village, to meet everyone. To many, having had a presence in the village for the last 30 years, our founder Emily wont be a new face.
Huge thanks to those who found a gift on our stall and made a donation to the DC (Dementia Cafe). We made £250 on the night and sales continued in the lead up to Christmas.
We would like to thank …
The Colour Print Company, Canary Wharf for printing our poster for free, saving us £85 for the Christmas Festival event. Mike Zimmermann from taking an afternoon off from HSBC head office at Canary Wharf in London and Rachel Richer who took a day off from The Bank of New York Melon, Canary Wharf, to travel the 70+ miles to support the DC.
Further thanks goes to local girls from TTC Aliesha Wells and Charlotte Vincent for flyering through the village.
Special thanks to Simon Whitehouse for playing us live music and singing at the festival.
Thank you to Tesco for the power and Gill Cullum for allowing us a great spot in the village.
Thank you to Lucy Cutler at Love to Eat for the lovely complementary biscuits for the team to accompany our teas that kept us warm -which were delicious and thanks for the continued support.
Great thanks to Genalda Silva at DC headquarters in London, who helped organise the admin for the event and who continues to keep the social media wheels turning.
All of the gifts on sale on the night were handmade by our founder Emily, from animal jars, (Mason and Ball pickling/jamming jars) to real miniature Christmas trees decorated with glitter, (many people chose to plant them out after Christmas and continue the life of their trees); to biscuits, marshmallows and the very popular, pre-assembled and iced gingerbread houses.
We continue to work with global brands to bring our supporters the best giveaways through our social media pages. We have so far worked with Made Strong NYC, Emily Fruit Crisps Ltd and local entrepreneurs Denise Higgs with her make-up brand Younique Make Up and Lucy Cutler at Love to Eat.
We will be bringing giveaways to the village for those who may not be online and who may be unable to follow our social media pages.
If you would like to make any suggestions to us at the DC then don’t hesitate to write to us at the above email address. We are contactable by phone also: 07910 728 839.
We are always looking for volunteers and would welcome local ones. If you’re looking for a new project in 2016, want to meet new people and/or do something for a good cause, then please reach out, we don’t bite! Thank you.
