Another successful day for the DC charity at Greenwich Market
Hi my name is Simona and I’m a content writer for the DC, however on Saturday I volunteered to manage the charity stand at Greenwich Market selling tea towels and animal jars and trade for the day alone. Trading started at 09:00am until 05:00pm, last Saturday 09th of July. We were given the chance to trade in the world famous Greenwich market and collect money for the charity. As I arrived around 08:30, the weather was nice and sunny but a little bit windy.

The Greenwich Market
I must admit that my first experience trading was very interesting. Although I live and study in Greenwich and I have been to Greenwich market many times, this was my first time being one of the traders. It was a totally different but good experience.
I had the chance to observe how the other traders organize their own stalls and sell their products. It was also interesting to see so many tourists from different countries around the world. I even received a donation from a young German tourist who bought one of our animal jars and was interested to hear more about our charity and the purpose of it.

Animal Jar
Many of the visitors at Greenwich market are tourists, however, not all. I met a nice man who came all the way from the village of Thorpe-le-Soken (where the Dementia Cafe is going to be built) , he told me he knew about the DC and that it is coming to the village soon.
Luckily, this is not going to be our last Saturday at Greenwich market because the Dementia Cafe has been allocated a regular stand.
Stay tuned for the next post and maybe if you are around stop by and visit us on Saturday at the Greenwich market. 🙂
